Our friends at 5ATexasFootball.com have released their pre-season playoff projections and district previews. Without a single game played, they predict Lamar to return to the post-season for a rematch with defending state champion Abilene in the first round. In District 4-5A, the Vikes are picked to finish fourth.

Former Lamar head football coach and athletic director Eddy Peach is one of 32 nominees for the next class in the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
To participate in the balloting, you must become an "Official Voting Member." Museum curator Jay Black informed lamarvikings.com that those who join now will receive a paper ballot in the mail this summer. Membership is available at the $25 and $50 levels. Click here to join.
Media professionals will take part as well, with their totals counting for 80 percent, and the public's vote making up the other 20 percent. The inductees will be announced in September 2010 and enshrined in early 2011.
