 Tulsa has captured its first running back commitment of the 2010 recruiting class. Ja'Terian Douglas, from Arlington (Texas) Lamar High School, has agreed to sign with the Golden Hurricane.  Fred Jackson should serve as inspiration to high school football benchwarmers everywhere.
The Buffalo Bills' running back never started a game for his high school football team in Arlington, Texas.
Not only that, he barely even got off the varsity bench for Lamar High School. |

With a win over Bowie, Arlington moved into sole possession of first place in the District 4-5A Standings. The Colts' lead is only half of a game, though, and they could drop back into a three-way tie following their bye in week nine. Mansfield Summit vaulted itself into a tie with Lamar for fourth place by beating Sam Houston, but the Vikings own the head-to-head tiebreaker and still control their own playoff destiny. - Arlington 59, Bowie 35

The latest playoff projections from 5ATexasFootball.com have Lamar coming out of District 4-5A as the second seed in the Class 5A-Division II (small school) tournament. That would mean a first round match-up between the Vikings and undefeated Abilene, the top seed out of District 3-5A and 14th ranked team in the state. Check out the full rundown. |
