Cravens Field

The home of Lamar High School football is Cravens Field, located on the Lamar High School campus at 1400 W Lamar Blvd, Arlington TX 76012. Through the 2006 season, Cravens had a natural grass field, but an artificial surface was installed in time for the fall of 2007. The artificial turf was later replaced before the 2014 season.

The stadium design was simple and there were 8,500 seats.  The tradition and history of Lamar Viking football makes Cravens a special place.

Fast forward to 2026…….

Cheers

Cravens Field is undergoing a complete $32.6 million demolition and rebuild.  Funded by the 2019 Bond, the project began with demolition in early 2026 and targets an estimated completion window between late 2020 and summer 2027.

With minimum seating for 8,400 spectators, the design will feature modernized turf, redone tracks, updated press boxes, new locker rooms, upgraded restrooms and concession areas, and efficient LED lighting similar to Arlington ISD’s Glaspie Field.

While construction is underway, Arlington ISD is utilizing alternative venues like Choctaw Stadium, and UT Arlington.
